The work done
From August 1, 2024 to the end of January 2025, the team’s work focused on preparing training materials for hub participants and preparing the Polish version of surveys to analyze the farms participating in the project in terms of awareness of climate threats and implemented methods to counteract these changes, as well as a survey describing the condition of the farm, its size, geographical location, number of animals bred and production methods. For this purpose, seven trips were carried out.The collected data was entered into the common project database on an ongoing basis via an interface provided by the task leader. The surveys described the initial (current) state of the farms participating in the project before the implementation of training and production methods aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the milk production process. Based on the surveys conducted, a detailed description of each of the farms participating in the Hubs will be prepared.

The cows on their first walk at Nowa Ruda Farm
Get to know the farms
Recently we have visited the farm of Ewa and Stanisław Dąbrowski (HUB 1) in Nowa Ruda. We saw 21 cows on their first spring walk. There is no grass on the pasture yet. The pasture season starts in May in this region. We also unfurled a roll-up with the project logo in Polish.
In addition to translating surveys characterizing farms into Polish, a Polish version of training materials as a presentation on carbon farming and methods of calculating CO2 emissions and the system of rewarding farmers for the achieved reduction of greenhouse gas emissions was prepared. The Polish subtitles for a movie presenting the idea and goals of the realized project was also prepared.
